Behaviour of Email Queues - 07-05-2009, 09:51 PM

Hello All,
I am a newbie, setting up Kayako for our organization's use.

I am using Email Queues to pickup email's from a POP3 email account.

Question: is Kayako supposed to remove (delete) emails in the mailbox after it POP's them ?

How can one control this behavior ?

For testing I am use an Alerts email box, which has about 300 emails in it, apparently Kayako is reading them again and again (opening multiple tickets for the same email) ?

Any suggestions ?

Many thanks in advance.

Faisal

Seems like a misconfiguration issue. You might want to contact Kayako Support to look into your setup. You can contact them from https://members.kayako.net/

If you're using Google Mail as your email backend, then you should be aware that Google Mail ignores mail delete requests from POP3 clients by default, in violation of the RFC. There's a checkbox in Google Mail's settings which controls this. Change the setting of that checkbox and the problem would disappear.

Thanks for the replies folks.

I was able to trackdown my issue and fix it.

Had to fix the settings in php.ini (found info in other articles, key thing is that with php 5.2 you have to setup the max memory to be 512M).

All is now working as it should.
