Change autoresponder - 28-08-2008, 09:52 AM

Hello,

2 things I'm looking to do to the auto responder for each ticket that is submitted.

What code needs to be removed to remove the dear <name> line from the autoresponder?

What do you need to change to have it signed off as coming from a department name not the company name Kayako is registered to?

Know the template to change etc just not sure what parts do the above 2, if possible.

I'm pretty sure that <{$ticket[fullname]}>, creates the "Dear <name>," Similarly, <{$settings[general_companyname]}> adds the registered company name. Comment <{* Comment Here *}> out these two items or remove them altogether from your email_autoresponder template.

Oh, and don't forget that there is an html section and a plaintext section of that template. Make your changes to both to avoid problems. I'd also save a copy of the unaltered template to a text file for reference (though you can easily restore the original by clicking restore, any changes you've already made will be eliminated.)

Understand that whenever an update to eSupport changes the default for this template, you'll need to 'restore' the new standard and reapply your modification. I recommend then using the Templates > Diagnostics > Diagnose Smarty Template Engine Errors to check for mistakes and then Diagnostics > Rebuild Cache to make sure everything takes.
