Editing a Custom Field - 14-08-2008, 07:06 PM

I've created a custom field called "Category" of the "Staff Ticket Creation" group type. The field is available upon ticket creation, but there is no way to edit the field after creation. How do I make the field appear on the ticket View Ticket page?

Hi there,

You need to click on the Edit button in order to see these fields (when viewing a ticket).

Are you sure? I just looked at the edit field (again) and I don't see it. Does it require that the field already have a value or something?

Just saw what you were talking about. I had to manually link the field to the ticket. Does that mean that there is no way to automatically link the field to all tickets?

Hi there,

Yes - it should be at the top of the fields under the Edit tab, as below (a Staff ticket creation custom field with no text entered when creating the ticket):

If you have created the ticket before creating your custom field, then yes - you will need to perform the manual link-up.

Just to be precise (for those who follow), it only shows the field on new tickets if the custom field is set. So, for instance, if the ticket is submitted by an end-user and the field is staff-only, it will still have to be manually attached.

Thanks for your help.
