How do I make Guest Validation Pending - 17-08-2007, 08:52 PM

people that register on my system are defaulted to the Registered User Group Validation Pending status? And can create tickets.
I wish they would be Guest Validation Pending.
How do I change this?

Hi Kevin,

This cannot happen - there are two types of user group in SupportSuite; Guest or Registered. You should consider a Guest user to be any site visitor who is not logged in.

There are two default user groups in SupportSuite - aptly named "Guest" and "Registered". It is not possible for a user to have registered (even when validation pending) and part of the Guest user group.

Jamie, that makes sense, from a certain perspective. I understand where you are coming from.

However, in some environments, an Unverified "Registered" User is more like a Guest than a Registered User. Unverified Users should not necessarily be awarded special rights (in terms of being able to submit more Tickets) just because they submitted (potentially bogus) Registration or Ticket info once (unless they submit another ("bogus") Registration/Ticket e-mail address).

It would be useful if there was an option "Submit More Than One Ticket" for Unverified Registered Users.

This would address a number of concerns that have been voiced in this forum, especially concerning SPAM.

Its true I agree...unverified users should be considered guests until verified. This is a security feature people use including myself.
