Update...

if I set charset in WHMCS to utf8 support centre looks okay - but WHMCS is garbled...

If I change charset in Kayako from iso-8859-1 to utf8 Kayako Looks garbled

Much weirdness... and still not a sound from Kayako support... that support re-subscription was money well spent then... sigh.

Anybody any ideas?

Just noticed something else... don't know if it's related but open tickets are not being shown under whmcs open tickets area... clicking on support tickets does take me to the right place(with garbled text) though where I can see open tickets...

Are you sure you restored the templates after upgrading your Kayako helpdesk?

Right, well seeing as support have gone quiet again and I'm getting desperate - I am willing to offer $50 to anyone that can fix this for me!

Thanks

Well I finally got a solution to this... But not from Kayako... got to say a huge THANK YOU! to Ronnie Fang of hostingskin.com!

Ronny supplied me with my (awesome)WHMCS template and after seeing I was having problems very kindly offered to make everything work... turns out WHMCS prefers utf8, ronnie tweaked my template and Kayako/WHMCS setup and Bingo!

Shame Kayako support werent as effective - but perhaps this was due to the problem being across systems... anyway I have a solution now and am a very happy puppy... and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ronnie to anyone experiencing similar issues, extremely friendly and helpful guy. Thanks Ronnie.

Rgds

Hi Terry,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I am glad you got the problem sorted in the end. I have passed this on to our developers who will note it as reference for the future

Good to know that your issue is resolved. However giving benefit of doubt, I do not believe Kayako support would know too much about the functioning of WHCMS. However your solution will certainly help them troubleshoot such an issue in the future.

Seems I spoke to soon... although the integration looks fine online - all email being sent from Kayako is now garbled.... the saga continues... Willing to pay for a solution to this problem if anyone out there has a clue...?

Hi Shed,

Please can you remind me of your ticket ID? We'll look into it this evening.

Ticket: FLL-884030

Opened on 05.03.2008

Still waiting for a solution to my integration problems... we are now looking at dumping Kayako in favour of WHMCS's own solution.

Hi there,

I see that you have been in frequent contact with our support staff over the last few days - please be patient so that the problem can be looked into. It is likely a configuration problem with your setup, as this has not been reported elsewhere.

Exactly how patient should I be? How many months is long enough to wait for support to help me resolve my issue?

It's a good job Kayako don't make bra's... because the support would be non-existant.

Why exactly did we even bother paying for support... We are very serious about dumping kayako now due to the complete lack of any reasonable or timely support.

The product might be great... but what's the point if the support stinks...
