I'm doing some work on trying to make our Knowldegebase better.
I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to make it so the results of a KB search show up in a different order.
Basically I would like the most relevant articles to be displayed first, at the moment the results are only shown oldest to newest articles, the search has nothing to do with relevancy. I would like to at least switch it so the results are shown Newest to Oldest, but a relevancy based search function for the knowledgebase would be extremely helpful and preferred.
I was told by a Kayako Tech that this was possible from the Admin control panel under Settings>Knowledgebase, but these settings do not appear to affect the order of search results displayed.
I was told:
"You can do that from Admin CP>Settings>Knowledgebase>Category Order Of Display if you want to change the order of display of the Knowledgebase categories and use Admin CP>Settings>Knowledgebase>Article Order Of Display for the articles."
But this does not work, I don't think the tech I was working with understood what I was asking. This only affects the categories, not the actual search result order.
Any advice anyone can give on this would be helpful. If someone can tell me what type of search algorithm the knowledgebase uses this would also be helpful so I can at least find out why the searches are so inaccurate. At the moment some searches display zero results even though I'm looking at the exact article that contains the keywords I searched for.
Thanks
