How do I? Questions about how to do specific things in SupportSuite, eSupport and LiveResponse. Not for reporting problems.

New fields in 'edit users' page - 17-09-2007, 03:38 PM

Hi,

I'm trying to modify the 'edit users' page in the staff section to increase the amount of available information. I know custom fields are generally meant for this kind of purpose, however the data I'm looking to pull out is already being stored elsewhere in the database.

Anyone have any ideas where to look? I've grep'd all the files and searched the templates and not had much joy. Am running an owned license of SupportSuite v3.11.01

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Deeps

When you say elsewhere in the database, where exactly do you mean?

Some data is in the users table, some data is in the tickets table, some data needs to be extrapolated based on multiple bits of information... it's all being generated and stored by SupportSuite by default, nothing new is being created, I just want to be able to display it on the 'edit users' page and I'm struggling to work out where necessary edits need to be made.

For example, I'd like to be able to display the data in users.userpasswordtxt for the user in question.

Deeps.

I just spotted the developers forum, would this be more appropriate there? If so, can mods move it?

Cheers,
Deeps.

Making some progress, but not much...
I've gotten a new field input into the form (altering the renderUserForm function in includes/function_users.php), but I'm not understanding how it's populating the existing fields - it claims to be pulling from $_POST, but I'm not submitting any forms to get to that page (as far as I can see...) as I'm simply clicking on a link from the manage users page.

Anyone? heh.

Nevermind, solved it. See http://forums.kayako.com/f52/increasing-available-information-edit-users-page-13686/#post62381 for instructions as to how to do it.
