It would make sense if each email que had its own outgoing server settings With the huge issue of mail being caught up in spam filters, surely this would help. i.e sending an email from user@mycompany.com through an smtp server at user@myothercompany.com would certainly cause issues with the likes of hotmail / msn who use SPF checking. Or.. Is this already possible and im missing something ? |

No it is not possible at the moment. You can switch to php mail() which should fix the SPAM issue. Try discussing the issue with Kayako developers if they can come up with a feasible solution. 100% with you, i created a thread i think last week regarding this. The reason its being blocked by hotmail ect is because it is being sent by a@domain.com with a from address of b@domain.com. Hotmail and many other sites will block mail because of this as this is a very common technique of sending spam. I also believe this is Urgent as all our sales emails are being sent into spam boxes or rejected while only the support emails are being accepted. |

We are currently looking at setting up SPF records on our main DNS server. -------------------------------------------------------------------

SPF records have now been configured for the hosted services server, we should see an improvement with regards to the straight-to-junk problem. -------------------------------------------------------------------

Do we need to actually do anything for our hosted eSupport account to take advantage of these new SPF settings? We still have most eSupport e-mail messages sent straight to the Junk folders, even for your own staff -- they even whitelisted "helpserve.com". Since this is such a confusing, yet critical issue, would it be possible that Kayako (i.e., Jamie) posts some type of How-to text? Perhaps for the most common scenarios? Or is there a website somewhere with useful info? ... we know how to (try to) block SPAM, but not how to avoid being blocked as SPAM... Well, actually, we do not understand how SPF works. We are hosted on "company.helpserve.com" but use e-mail addresses such as "support@company.com", "userA@company.com", etc. We could potentially modify those e-mail addresses anytime. How would SPF help with this? Thanks! PeteV eSupport hosted 3.11.01 |
