Hi Has anyone received an answer to this yet? Is it possible to completely disable user registration/authentication? To provide an answer the question of 'why' we want to do this: we have another mechanism that handles user authentication/session tracking/access control on a global scope for our website. Anyone else in a similar circumstance? |

I just tried disabling the user registration box on the latest CVS version (03 Nov) by going to the Staff CP, Select Users > Manage Groups, click on the Guest and on the Registered users and turn off "Can View Register Widget." for both of them but the registration box is still shown. Any ideas? Am I doing the correct thing? Thanks, Steven |

I have asked Kayako support for exactly the same feature, but they answered that it is not available in standard v.3 and they have refused to add this feature there. IMHO it is a really stupid decision because as you wrote - the username and password are already included in the reply e-mail, so auto-login by ticket-link-click would be easy way to do. However - if you buy Owned version, you get almost full source code and according to the Kayako support it should be easy to tweak it to get this function working. Since I am not the only one requesting this function, I think they should reconsider their refusal and put it into standard release. I do suggest that if there is more people requiring this function, then we should coordinate some "e-mail request attack to support" ;-) to push them a little bit. Regards Tomas | |
