View tickets through RSS stream - 12-10-2007, 01:36 PM

I am trying to view the tickets through an RSS stream (with RSS Bandit, supports http authentication), but i am prompted with a username and passwd screen. My staff username and passwd doesn't grant me access. Is there any setup that has to be done or have I missed something? Has anyone got it to work?

Any way to view the RSS feed is fine with me. Also tried the approach http://usernameasswd@supporsite.com/rss/index.php?_m=tickets&_a=rss&ticketviewid=1&departm entid=&ticketstatusid=
didn't work.

When I enter the staff username and password into the dialog that appears i get:
ERROR: You need to use a staff username and password in order to access this RSS feed

This isn't currently possible without custom development work (if you want this done, see the marketplace board).

I *think* the API Kayako is currently developing may actually be capable of doing this however. No ETA for release has been set though.

Pity, we have the same problems. Kayako sells functionality which cannot be used?

Hi there,

Ticket lists RSS feeds can be generated, but there may be a bug in the authentication if what you report is correct. I'll test this shortly.

How do you mean sells functionality that cannot be used? RSS is implemented to allow knowledge base and news articles to be syndicated and nowhere do they promise this does any more...

Regardless of this, in a joint effort between my team and Dewak's, we will soon be releasing an API to allow this sort of functionality. Keep an eye on this forum near the end of the month.

I tested on the current stable build, and it seems to be working - both for IE, Firefox and a generic RSS reader using my staff username and password.

HI, I am a new user of Support Suite. I was wondering ....Is it possible to have RSS feed for clients rather than staff?

Regards,

James
