Alerts -> New User Registration Notification - 03-01-2008, 12:01 AM

Since we have the new user registration set to require approval by the staff, it would be nice to have a new user registration email notification process.

We can't allow automatic new user approval since we have to assign each user account to a User Group, since this determines the Department they are allowed to create tickets under (at least manual tickets since emailed tickets don't follow these rules). Thus we have to manually check the user list all day long to make sure someone hasn't registered and needs to be assigned to a group and then approved... a notification would make life much more simple.

If you setup your Mail Parsers as "Registration Required" then if a non-registered user sends in a email they will get a autoreply that they have to register first.

Although you are correct Steve, it would still be nice to receive an email notification when a user registers especially if you have multiple user groups setup and need to move users to different groups once they register. I for one would support this feature request however I think this has already been submitted.

I agree with Siora. It is a needed feature rather than something to be "worked around".

Yes, this part works, they do a notification that they need to register...

But once they register, we don't know they have registered until we go to Manage Users and sort by newest date and then we see there are new users and have to place them in one of the User Groups, then we "resend" the email activation link so they can activate their account...

Currently I have to leave an additional browser open on the Manage User page ALL day and refresh it every 15 min so I can see when someone new registers...

ya sorry guess I didn't understand your question/issue fully yes if you have "Manual Approval" turned on you should receive some sort of notification that someone has even registered...

My shop could use this feature as well. Currently we have just set a very long auto delete and try to review new users a few times per day. A report, notification icon or email would allow us to be much more proactive with our existing staff leveles

That's a really necessary feature! An email notification is more effective than manual check-up of the users list. We'd love to have this feature implemented as well. Strange that noone from Kayako Team has commented this feature so far...

I've been desperately searching for this feature myself - Anyone know if it may be possible to BCC ourselves in the users registration email as a work around until they add this REALLY ESSENTIAL feature?

Without modifying the software source code, it currently isn't possible.
