Change login from email address to username - 28-07-2008, 12:05 PM

When a client wants to change their username we have to edit every ticket with their new email address so that the old tickets appear under the new email address username. Surely this inconvenience can be solved by changing the login to a username?

All that needs to happen is have tickets tagged to account IDs rather than email addresses in my opinion.

Why isn't it that simple? The way I see it, tickets should be tagged to accounts rather than email addresses...

Because the system needs to cater for a lot more complexities than that, which your suggested solution neglects.
