Custom fields -> Ability to prevent users editing them - 24-05-2007, 02:22 AM

The staff edit only function on custom field is quite misleading in the current version.

We thought it would mean users wouldn't be able to input information in the front-end, but it just means users wouldn't be able to edit the custom field's information after the ticket info has been submitted.

Please give one additional option for users to be restricted from a custom field. So the field will only be available for editing and input by staff.

If you make a seperate group with group type staff ticket creation the custom fields will only be editable by staff.

Maybe this is an interesting work around.

Yes but then we would have to manually add the custom field we want to all the tickets that come in through the helpdesk because only tickets created by staff in the staff CP would have the appropriate custom field attached.
