Need for Director level Staff - 03-04-2008, 06:27 PM

I would like to have the ability to setup a staff member that would be able to Monitor assigned departments but not receive emails from those departments.

Example: One of our Execs would like to monitor (view only) all of our departments. But their is no need or desire to receive all the emails from new tickets or replies.

Example2: A few of us need to be able to see into a "Training" department so that when the assigned staff member is out we can at least look in it but not receive new ticket emails.

Why not just create private alerts as opposed to public alerts.

Sorry...I had a brain freeze on your last post. I know where to setup the alerts but I guess I dont understand how setting up a private alert would help.

"Alert Scope
Public Alerts are executed for all Staff Members. Private Alerts are executed only for the Staff Member that creates them."

We have 3 Helpdesk techs and I am their Manager. My boss and his boss only wants to monitor tickets and not actually receive an email every time a user gets say locked out or printer jams, etc... Myself and the 3 techs will still need to get alerts for new tickets or replies everytime.

So what I mean here is change all your public alerts that staff get to private so that your directors don't get emails but your staff still do. Only drawback here is that each of your staff members will have to create private alerts.
