Only show login widget when login is required

It has become apparent that having the login on the left side always show is confusing end users. Even if I point them to a news article, the "eye" scans a web page from top to bottom, left to right. So they see the login area before they find the news article and I get complaints as to why login is required, etc.

As with most sites such as e-commerce, etc., a login dialog is presented to the user only when login is required. A "Login" link is typically found at the top right of a page if the user wants to login manually to review their account, history, etc.

Hopefully you can consider this user-interface issue in v4 and not present a login widget at all times. If a user accesses an area requiring login, direct them to a login page (or popup/modal dialog) and then redirect them back to the page after the login is successful.

I agree with and support this. I have a feeling the client area may be redesigned enough to where this might be a moot point though. Guess we will have to wait and see
