[Timetabler]

It should be possible to do some customising of the Staff Control Panel.

At present (in v3.11.01 hosted) you can't even put your company Logo in the area at the top of the screen!

Nor can you change colours, or the sequence of items on the main menu bar.

Nor can you edit any of the screen/menu labels to make them more friendly and more accessible to the staff.

AND, irritatingly, if you click on the Menu Bar for a new section, it does NOT takes you to the home (first item) of the new section. It shows you the new sub-menu labels, but you have to always click a second time to get any of them actually displayed.
The first click should at least display for you the first/home item of the new menu ...after all that's why you clicked that Menu item!

I disagree. This makes developing more time consuming as they have to template everything.

I think that for anyone looking to customise the staff dashboard (which is made up of many complicated components) should do so with caution. I also think that if you are looking to customise so many aspects of the softwre and interface, an Owned license would be more apropiate (for self hosting).

Jamie, you seem to be saying (a) don't fiddle, but (b) do fiddle!

If, as you say, it would be 'dangerous' to customise the StaffCP, then that's all the more reason why Kayako should provide some way of customising some parts of the StaffCP.

At present you can't even add a company logo/name!

Am I the only one that finds the StaffCP

--and thus unhelpful to staff efficiency?

Computer screens are supposed to be as helpful to humans as possible!

All that Jamie is saying is be careful. You could break the control panel and Kayako don't support modified installations.

Your changes would also have to be reapplied with each upgrade.

I don't know about everyone else but my logo is at the top left of the staff cp but then again I do have an owned license.

The reason why Timetabler cannot change his is because hosted users do not have direct access to the files.

@Timetabler; hopefully the interface in Version 4 will be more customisable with settings and buttons, and a complete overhaul of it (clean cut, modularised etc) will take place in a future version of our line.
