yes nibb mobile Safari is currently only available on the iPhone..

I just got a Tilt with WM6 for my business line.. I too would rather see a Native App for WM5/WM6 then a web browser based one...

I suppose Varun means that it has to support ajax because the LiveWinapp is based on it. For example the Winapp on the PC version works with IE and you have to have in installed. If you have a problem with IE, the problem appears with Winapp. So i suppose he means that Pocket IE should support Ajax so they can develop a version for mobile phones.

What I dont think logic is that Apple only lets iPhone users use Safari. I tested Safari on the iPhone and yes its great, but will not Pocket Explorer or Pocket Opera just updated themself and copy what the iPhone browsers do?

I cannot believe that iPhone has the most powerfull phone browser outhere and nobody could come with something better. Specially because they dont offer a version of the Safari Mobile for Windows Mobile. If they want to start to play this game I should say programmers dont have to make softwares for the iPhone if the Apple doesnt allow iPhone programas on other phones why should the work allow their software to be used on it.

Pocket Opera is more powerful than the Safari browser on the iPhone; has better Javascript support as well as Flash support. You are right that Pocket IE etc will eventually catch up with Safari (in fact, according to Windows Mobile 7 spec leaks will surpass it » Exclusive: Windows Mobile 7 To Focus On Touch and Motion Gestures » InsideMicrosoft-part of the Blog News Channel).

I forgot to add that the Webkit browsers (effectivley open source Safari) will feature on more and more mobile devices; the Internet tablets, the Android platform (Google phone) etc.

So any news? At list to the future developing list? We are in the year 2008. Things should move on, could this a be a feature released soon or is Kayako a little more slow in tech advances?

Hi Nibb,

It isn't on the roadmap yet, and won't be for a while. And no, we're not slow in advances

Have someone had a look at Opera Mini?

It displays pages better then the iphone browser. Its not Opera Mobile, its not the same. Its Opera Mini that works on a server side.

My MSN on the phone works like a charm on Windows Mobile. There is also plenty of chat system of Windows Mobile and other devices platform independent in Java. I dont understand how its not possible to do a small Live Winapp maybe in Java that sends small packets to the server just like Pocket MSN does. I dont know many people would fine this tool very usefull. Specially for those that have a unlimited internet plan on their phones.

I think it would be a major hit for Kayako but it seems they are not interested. Im sure one the main reasons Kayako sells if because the Livechat is integrated into the full supporsuite. Imagine all those people that use MSN for livechat, they would never feel incentivated to move away specially if it works everywhere. I know its not easy to have a livechat for a phone, but its so hard was well, for windows mobile all they have to do is make a compressed version of the current winapp.

I would love this on my windows mobile. Perhaps, a jabber protocol can be used to achieve this?

Jabber would require using a dedicated port to this purpose so that is really out of the question.

How would that cause a problem? There are free to use Jabber clients for Windows Mobile.

I was making the point that server side, a port would need to be mapped by the software (Kayako) to allow the Jabber software to communicate with it. Because Kayako is PHP Server Side software, it can't just map ports it wishes to use. It would require some "helper" software to be installed at server level.

Because of this, I think it would be best if Kayako built their own software using XML like the current WinApp.

Yes you are. There havent been any big new features for a very long time and bug fixes take forever to get resolved, if at all.

I think we have made considerable progress in the current roadmap (more than 100 bugs and feature additions) in a fairly short space of time. If you wanted us to try and deliver more than this in a single build, you would be asking us to put quality very much one the line.

Im really not sure how 100 bugs/feature requests in 12 months is something to brag about. Thats more ideal for a 2 month release cycle and only 1 developer.

Hi MACscr,

The last build was released less than three months ago, not twelve months ago.
