Option to disable visitor tracking on certain sites - 19-08-2007, 06:24 PM

With my design there is no way for me to put kayako's online gifs and texts. So i've created my own image and put the link in so when a client clients live help the live help pops-up and a chat conversation is started.

Is there anyway in which I can put a piece of javascript in my site pages so I can see where my site visitors are?

Thanks

If you are talking about tracking clients vs. chatting with them - yes this is possible..

The code is in your staff admin area - LIVE SUPPORT - TAG GENERATOR - VISITOR TRACKING

Hi thanks for your reply but it says the following;

Quote:
Copy this HTML Code to all the locations that you wish to track your visitors from. This HTML Code will print an Online or Offline status image automatically depending upon the status of Staff Members.
I dont want an image to be used.

This seems to be a mistake in the description, the visitor tracking code will not display an image.

I've put it in between <head></head> and it seems to work fine. Is this the best place to put it in my site pages?

Yes, this is a good place. Some also prefer (especially when linking to the support desk hosted on a different server) placing the code just before the end of the page - thus reducing the loading time the user has to go through before the page renders.

We use this technique on this site with Google Analytics code, which can sometimes be fairly slow to load during busy periods.

Hello! I have another problem - I want to disable visitors and text link only. Can you give me your html-code?

Hi Ginger22,

Do you mean you wish to disable visitor tracking completely but still allow them to start chats? I am afraid this is not possible, but should be an option - I will move this thread to the feature requests forum for consideration.

Oh yea, that would be cool. The option is there for the other way around (visitor tracking only) so this should be available.
