Question How do I adjust upload file size? - 22-07-2007, 11:26 PM

I get this error when trying to upload a pdf file to my downloads section:

Quote:
ERROR: The uploaded file size exceeds the upload_max_filesize set in your php.ini file. Please increase the upload_max_filesize entry in php.ini file to upload this file.
How do I adjust this filesize? Where is the php.ini file located?

Are you on a dedicated server of some kind? If not (you are on a shared webhost) you will have to ask your webhost to change the setting for you.

yes, mine is run through a hosting company. What should I suggest it be changed to? I will be the only one placing documents in the downloads section so I guess its safe to put in a high number?

What other limits are governed by the php.ini file to consider so I can take care of this all at once?

Whatever suites you best! What is the maximum size of the file you would be uploading? Take that as a guideline.

Remember that if the connection gets interupted on a large file, you will have to start the upload again.
