Our experience of Softairltda.com

A few weeks ago i contacted Soft Air with my idea to create a module for the Kayako Support Suite. Much to my suprise i received a reply to my email within the hour. What Great Support!

Soft Air handled my query very professionally and even organised a meeting with a few members of their staff to see how feasible my idea was. Once the meeting had finished i was contacted with a price and what features would be possible.

Overall a great experience and i would recommend these to anyone who doesn't have the programming knowledge. A very professional company.

Softair is great.....we have a complex setup and they keep plugging away making it everything I need it to be. Dedication.

I am in the beginning phase with Soft Air redoing my entire site as well as Kayako and Shopping cart.

I too had sent a request for info and JC contacted me promptly and started with what are you looking for instead of this is what we do and we will do for you too.

I am very impressed when a company wants to hear what you are looking for prior to even offering what they can do.

My site is a full custom job at a extremely resonable price. And the turn around time is going to be excellent.

We are doing everthing in phases with the order making sense.

I would recommend Soft Air to everyone, I have already got a project from one of my clients headed for JC this coming month.

I have had great experience with dealing with Softair Ltd. They are polite, have a very quick response on e-mails or any questions you may have. And very good costing for the projects they undertake. I can guarantee you will only be happy you have choosen them to work on your project for you.

For the record I have been in this business for quite some time now and have worked with a variety of different parties. I can say without hesitation that Softair and their whole crew (JC, Andres, etc..) are phenominal. Not only do they have superb communication and prompt delivery but they also support their product until the end without hesitation. If you need something done and you value promptness as well as quality, pick Softair.

We were dissapointed with the quote we received. What we considered to be a fairly simple job was quoted at 20 hours which is excessive. You do get what you pay for though and I can't comment on what their actual service would be like when working on a job - there are many positive reviews though.


Also you can't navigate their website without constant warnings about secure and nonsecure items. Makes for a very unfriendly browsing experience...

If I may interject... Did you come to them with an upfront budget?

The reason I went to them in the first place is the excellent feedback they have received and I have no doubt the work they do is very good stuff.

As for budget - I just provided them with specs of the project and asked them to quote.

We were looking at converting the blob entries in our database to files - ie the new way eSupport stores attachments. The majority of the code is actually already done and available in the source - eSupport performs this task everytime you click on an attachment that is stored in the database. This code just had to be run on old attachment entries and the link updated appropriately in the database (to the saved custom filename).

The quote was more than two times the cost of a fully owned eSupport licence. In the end that was too much for us - a modification costing significantly more than the original program.

In terms of professionalism and quality of service Soft Air do a lot of custom solutions, meaning that they cannot sell these on in mass quantity like Kayako do.

Kayako code 1 peice of software and sell it over and over to get their profit. Because you asked for a custom solution they are listening to your every need and probably won't sell the product on again. Also think of the labour involved in your idea. I know a lot of projects take about a week to complete.

So when you think about all these aspects they are actually quoting a very reasonable price based on your requirements.

I finally found the time to do this fix by myself (time was the major reason for me wanting to outsource this project). Although I am familiar with php code/SQL I am far from a programmer, mostly using existing code and on-line help documents to construct rudimentary scripts. Took me a little over 4 hours to complete and another hour to run the code and test the results. Most of the time was spent googling for the correct syntax of the lines I was missing.
