Display message body in a template - 16-02-2009, 07:43 PM

Hi I like to include the users' message in one of my templates. I know how to include the ticketid & subject line, but I can't find out how to reference the actual message. Could you provide me the proper code for this please?

Tx supportskins, but what I actually try to reach is to include the original message via a template-variable in the Auto-reply message.
Just as I can use the <{$ticket[subject]}>-notation in any template to include the subjectline, I'd like to include the mail message as well.

Hi Evert,

Dewak is a software development company with a lot of experience doing Kayako modifications. Here is what you need to do:

1. Open file modules/tickets/functions_ticketmain.php

2. Go to line #1758, on function "loadTemplateVariables"

3. Do a MySQL query to get the mail message and then store it on a variable

Code:
$messageMail = $dbCore->queryFetch("SELECT message
                                        FROM table".
                                        WHERE condition);
4. Assign the variable to Smarty.

Code:
$template->assign("messageMail", $messageMail);
5. Now you can use the variable on the template <{$messageMail}>

Hi Andres,
many thanks for the answer.
Do you know any way to do this in the Hosted version of Kayako?

Cheers, Evert

No. Incase of hosted solution you do not have access to software source code.

that's correct Evert, with the hosted version you can't change the source code. (Thanks Supportskins). If you wish to implement these changes go for the Owned or leased versions.
