I suppose that depending on the module, we will consider it - Varun would check over the proposition and may take it up if it is worthwhile.

Yeah but they can buy it, tweak it, and then support it. This would be a huge selling feature and could potentially draw a large number of potential buyers.

He is not interested in selling exclusive rights to it because of the "who will support" implication.

Something else to considder.....

I have specced this as PayPal for payment processor.

What others would you like in there. Bare in mind that this will push the price up.

I don't specifically need these, but, I would say 2CO and Authorise.net. Would you need those, or is PayPal alone ok?

Cheers

Richelo

You need 2CO / Auth.net / WorldPay in my opinion. It needs to be modular so you can add more too.

Although Paypal would work for me that could change at any given time so mayble it needs to be Flexible like Craig said.

I have contracted SoftAir to develop a Pay Per Ticket module for Kayako. This is with PayPal, and it also handles people buying batches of tickets, and also monthly subscriptions, which allows x number of tickets per month.

They have come back with a very fair price, but, which is slightly outside my budget at the moment.
Darn, i'm still not that good to estimate time on projects :\
Hmmm... lets say... (using the 1/2/5/10 estimation method)
(1day = 8hours)
1day specifications
+
1day setting up the transactional engine with paypal
+
2 days creating the admin side
+
2days creating the client side
+
2 days tests & changes
+
1 day documentations and delivery
= 9 days
using french salary for a devellopers (roughly 15€/h, yup that's not cheap)

9*8*15=1080€, lets say 1199€ :P hurk

Just for curiosity (and experience, i'm still a young padawan) i'd like to know how much softair is charging (in days).

Varun was already interested in the release of this module way back when the first user worked on it:

Ticket Purchaser (Pay-Per-Ticket System)

I don't see why he would not be interested now.

Maybe ping Varun to this topic Jamie? JC said to me if Kayako requested development from them for Kayako to include it with their software / sell it as a module, they would sell the full rights to it.

Hi All

I don't mean to be a bearer of bad news, but I have already been creating such a system with all of these features, check out the screenshots , cheers , however I don't anticipate finishing it anytime soon, so JC or Sheep could be the best option right now.

I have tons more screenshots, but just chose a few as the max is 5 i can upload here.

Yes, I do understand that Craig . I willl enter our own discussions with SoftAir if they were to develop a module and if we had an interest in purchasing rights to it.

I cannot see where Varun said he would be interested in purchasing it - however, I can see that he showed interest in its release like the rest of us.

If you're looking for a "If enough users want the module then we will buy it" answer, I am afraid you won't get one - a module will be considered for inclusion on a case by case basis.
