Attachments working? - 01-12-2005, 02:47 PM

We're using 3.00.26. Nothing happens when we try to attach files in the post reply screen. The reply is posted, but the attachments are not. Is this a known bug or a problem with my setup?

Thanks,
Frenchy

This is also happening to me on 3.00.90 - the attachments are added to the database and available in the web portal, but they are not attached to the email itself.

There have been numerous attachment related fixes released since the versions you are both running: http://builds.kayako.net/

The latest stable versions is: 3.04.10, with several CVS releases proceeding this too.

It turned out to be that the huge files directory (~69000 files, ~479MB folder size), is somehow related to this problem. If we empty the directory, then the attachments are displayed. However, no matter how big the files directory is, the attachments are displayed when they are sent by email, not supportsuite interface.

How large are we talking? I've been using 40MB for awhile now.

Make sure your PHP setting is something like the following if your attachment size is around 20MB

max_input_time - 2000
memory_limit - 100M
post_max_size - 32M
upload_max_filesize - 32M
max_execution_time - 0

These settings would work fine for a 20MB file. HTH

The attachments are showing up in the Support Center, in the Staff CP, and in the original email, but still nothing on staff replies. Anything else I can check?

My upload_max_size is 40MB, and I've been testing with 1MB files.

Try increasing your max packet size setting in your MySQL ini (my.ini on Windows)
