Really (in my opinion) Kayako needs a dedicated Project Manager to decide what gets implemented and manage the developers better to ensure these get done. I know Jamie is kinda doing this but he has too much to do with other things really (docs / manuals, wiki, chasing stuff up for customers, etc). Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |

Feature requests not being implemented quickly at the moment is not a management issue, it is a developer issue - while we have an additional developer in training, unfortunately for us PHP developers are very hard to come by in Jalandhar. I am the eyes and ears for the community at the moment and manage all of the feedback received - nothing goes unattended to or ignored whilst on my watch. However, I cannot make miracles and stop time for our developers, I am afraid. -------------------------------------------------------------------

If you would like to e-mail me any, then feel free to. They must be located in Jalandhar. However, please understand that just because you e-mail me one that is located here does not mean we are going to take on the developer; and do not be angry if we do not. It would simply be information useful to have ![]() -------------------------------------------------------------------

Out of interest why do then need to be in India? Whats wrong with ones elsewhere? The C++ developers are based across the states so why can't the same thing be for PHP developers. Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |

Does money make any difference to when a feature/bug request is processed? i think i would be prepared to pay/bribe a developer for an hours work to resolve an issue or two. I am a developer and suspect that some of the requests would only take 10 to 15 minutes to resolve (plus testing which i am sure Craig would do :-)) When people make requests of us we say it will be in a future release or, if you really want it now, it will take x minutes and so cost you this much. Actually it is not quite like that. If it is a feature that other users will want we generally dont charge by the minute since their money is contributing directy to the overall desirability of the product. If it is a feature that only they will use then we charge them accordingly. |

PHP development has always taken place in our main India office - it is the only efficient way for communication and planning. Different locations (let alone different time zones) will make this more difficult. There is also another reason; our developers will work on the floor and assist our services and support teams in tracing issues etc. I am splitting this topic into a new thread. -------------------------------------------------------------------
