Forum moved again?

Ok, this is just silly. Some time ago, you moved the forum while upgrading, and didn't change the old DNS on the host to point to the new IP. Many of us then edited our HOSTS files to point to the proper IP so it would work. Since yesterday, I'm getting a "forum closed" message again, just like before...so I do a lookup. Sure enough, the IP has changed again.

Is it too difficult to edit the existing DNS zone for the domain to point to the correct IP when you change it? For those keeping score, here are the old and new IPs for the forum:

OLD: 209.51.153.218 forums.kayako.com
NEW: 216.12.216.194 forums.kayako.com
Add the new info to your HOSTS file to access the forum....for today, at least...until it's randomly changed without notice again.

The last time I talked with Varun he said this issue would be resolved. Since then I found myself seeing the forum down page. Again, I had to manually set the DNS in the hosts file. FYI, they moved all the Kayako sites onto a new server. Hence if you cannot access it you might want to check the DNS and set it in your hosts file although this is not a resolution to this issue.

Hi there,

The forum, along with other site areas were indeed moved onto a completely new box and DNS settings are complete (unlike last time). Hopefully, no more IP changes.

Did they also change the DNS on the old box to point to the new IP for everything? That was the main reason it kept flipping, since ISPs were sending to either server randomly (depending on cache and availability). Had they taken the DNS zone on the "losing" server and changed IPs to the new one(s) in there as well, it would have been instantaneous.
Pretty basic stuff.
