Thumbs up Forums upgraded - 13-08-2008, 02:31 PM

The forums have been upgraded to the latest version of vBulletin. Styling of the forums will follow shortly.

You will notice a new user profile layout, as well as other minor interface improvements.

Please report any problems in this thread.

This is great however wouldn't it be better if you had upgraded on a weekend since the forums were down for about 3 hours on a business day?

Although this is normally what we do, the upgrade couldn't be done at the weekend on this occasion. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Okay. Was the upgrade critical by any means? I mean could you not postpone it then?

No; in order to accomodate our own schedules it had to be done this week. Additional work is to be done on the forums that required an upgrade to vBulletin 3.7, and we were running vB 3.6.

Because the forums are not an official support channel and the support office was open during the time of the upgrade, customers should not have been inconvinienced. If this was not the case, then we apologise - but at least we are up now

I assume by "work is to be done" you mean the checking of licensed users here on the forums?

Nope.

This thread is about any problems you might have with the new forum software.

Can we get a Forum Home and Site Home link added to the top menu please? I found these links (more so the Forum Home one) immensely useful.

Hmm, it is getting difficult to differentiate a new topic from a "tagged" topic now Jamie. See http://www.craigbrass.net/personal/i...808-202656.jpg

If you are unable to tell immediately from the thread title text, look at the thread icons to see whether or not the threads have been updated.

Could you not maybe get these thread tags in green or blue or something then the eye differentiates quicker.
