List of Feature Request for Kayako - 05-05-2007, 01:34 AM

Hey,

Is it possible for the Kayako staff to setup a blog, or a page with request that they will have in the system and the status of them. I request a few options like edit user/ticket notes around 5 months ago and was told it was coming in the next build. Well few builds later still not in.

I think it will be easier and I'm sure less work for Kayako if they got a list of feature request that they WILL add to their system.

Any one else?

From,
Adam

Good idea...it would be nice to know that our suggestions are being heard.

Hi Adam,

We will handle all feature requests en-mass following a developers meeting. Updates will be posted thereafter. There is no ETA on when this will be.

I agree - A suggested features page like the bugs page would be a great asset and would lead to less double and triple posting of the same requests..

Maybe with a vote feature or interest ranking feature to guage how important certain changes would be...

You know a great way to do this (which is what we did) is to have a feature request list page and it also has an ajax 5-star rating you can vote on too!

This puts the most wanted features at the top of the feature request list and it is very easy to code up.

Yea, a voting system would be nice.

The problem with this is that all "feature requests" sound nice and many will get rated highly. By making people actively create a new thread or reply to an existing thread to show support for a request we remove the ease of "supporting" a request for the sake of it (being so easy to do).

It is customary for software companies to offer users a roadmap. Will Kayako ever consider doing this?

The "Will Implement" sub-forum inside Feature Requests (http://forums.kayako.com/f90/) is as good as a roadmap. It says what they will be implementing in the next version. I think Jamie is slowly working though all the threads and moving them into Will Implement, Will Not Implement, ect.
