Greetings everyone,

We have made some enhancements to the forums, which you may have already noticed. Most of these come as part of search engine optimization of the forum, but also offer some fairly neat usability features (described below).

URLs
The URLS on the forum have changed format. Instead of old, cryptic URLs they have been made to look static and more descriptive. This is primaraly for Search Engine Optimization purposes.


Link posting
When posting a link, the forum will automatically visit that page and grab the title of it and link that. For example: New Kayako Office in USA - Kayako Community Forums - all I did there was paste a raw link.


Linkbacks
(See Kayako Community Forums - LinkBacks). The linkback system detects what pages are linking to threads on a forum. This allows you to find more relevant information. When a thread has linkbacks, you will see this kind of table:




Trackbacks
When posting threads, you will be given the option of entering a trackback URL. You should use this if you want to reference another page on the Internet, such as a blog post or other forum thread - this will then attempt to notify the other page about your new post or thread, and create a link between them.

If you do not want to see this field, then you can disable it via your user control panel (under Options).
