Angry New Prices? Same Product? More Money? - 01-10-2007, 08:27 PM

Recently, I decided to order an extra domain license and I saw the price was not the same ($49.95) it was $99.95 so I didn't mind and bought it. After that I was about to download they new key and hopefully the latest stable release of supportsuite which was not there, I was only able to download the latest release from my last purchase. (Note: I've been using SupportSuite for 2 years from now).

Correct me please if I am wrong but I don't see any of those changes on the official site's news and when I submitted a ticket asking about that issue the answer was quite plai:

It's good to know things work this way now but how about email current customers and resellers and say "HEY we are growing and we need to increase our prices".

I am not complaining at all about the price but increasing 3 times the price of a product in less than a year is kinda insane you know? Also, SupportSuite is still the same, releases are more bug fixes than new features right?

What else I can say? Can someone please explain what is wrong? I might be wrong, but I need to know why

Hi xUx,

Support and upgrades have never come as part of the additional license purchase - this has always had to be purchased seperately.

The price change for the additional license (from $49.95 to $99.95) quite probably predates me.

However, I know that the change came after a revaluation of the licensing scheme (take up and use of the additional licenses, etc) and pricing of them and we saw it fit to make this price increase (note not for the main product but for additional domain licenses).

Let me do some numbers:

*CASE: Extra domain license:
- $99.95 (additional license)
- $99.90 (12 months support/upgrades)
TOTAL: $199.85

*CASE: New License
- $299.95 (leased includes support/upgrades)
TOTAL: $299.95

See what I'm complaining about? 30% less, this is not good for consulting companies, because most of the times this service is provided while you work for them and no one guarantees your gonna stay forever, even 1 year.

Can you make a list of new features of SupportSuite from 3.04.x to 3.11.x? Features not bug fixes

okay but your showing for 12 months support/upgrades on the additional domain license and since a new license only comes with 6 months of support/upgrades you need to add an extra $49.95 to your calculations for the new license to have it also have 12 months..

Additional License with 12 Months of Support/Upgrades = $199.85

New eSupport Owned License with 12 Months of Support/Upgrades = $349.90

New SupportSuite Owned License with 12 Monts of Support/Upgrades = $549.90
