Outgoing e-mail encoding - 11-10-2007, 04:45 AM

I would like to purchase eSupport, but have a problem with hosted trial. I've added new language(Russian, UTF-8). It is send as the default for the group. After sending a test e-mail in Russian(koi8-r encoding, most popular for e-mails in russian) I get back an autoresponder message having russian text in UTF-8, but the headers of the letter contains line Encoding: windows-1251.
Could you help me: If i make Russian language in the system in koi8-r and will set koi8-r in the language settings, would it still be sent with header Encoding: windows-1251? And how can I change this?

This can be changed by editing the language files and make sure you too have set the charset in the language as koi8-r. Search for "charset" using Search Phrase in the Language section from the Admin CP.

Done. The problem is still not solved:
1. Now I get in autoresponder letter:
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="CP-1251" (still 1251)
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8 (Just 8, not KOI8-R)

2. All the text in letter is in the KOI8-R, OK. But ticket details(Name of the person opened the ticket and ticket subject are still being sent in UTF-8).

Contact Kayako Support, they will change the encoding the in the language files for you which should fix the issue.
