Question Purchasing someone elses Licence - 20-01-2008, 04:16 PM

Hi,

I have a quick question about purchasing a used Kayako Licence from somone who is selling theirs.

What do I need to send to Kayako for the transfer to take place, what do I need to check or verify with the person selling the licence. How to I confirm the licence they are selling is valid and can be transfered to my Kayako members account as we used to lease a support suite licence.

Any help you can provide is much appretiated as I want to ensure I am conforming with Kayako' licence requirements completely and not purchasing a pirate copy etc.

Submit a support ticket to the sales department. They can answer all your questions and make certain you're buying a valid license.

Alternatively, live help are good for this sort of thing during office hours.

You can open a ticket with sales or chat with them via Livechat be prepared to to give them the person your buying froms members.kayako.net email address or the existing licensed domain.

Also if the support/upgrade is expired they will need to renew it before they will transfer the License....

Why does support need to be renewed before licence is transferred?

That is correct - support and upgrades need to be active before we can transfer a license.

Well without support/upgrade new user of the license won't be able to download the latest version of the software nor contact support if they need any initial help...

All other software vendors I know also do this ModernBill, AWBS, vBulletin, etc all need active support/upgrade before you can transfer license.

I have submitted a ticket to sales last night and they promptly replied this morning with the info I need to give them.

Just waiting on the seller now to update me with this.
