Hello All, I have just been talking to Jamie on the messenger and we have been unable to come to a resolution on this topic so time to get some community opinion on it. Jamie has been moving modifications where the modification isn't attached to the thread to the Marketplace board. He has also been doing it for paid modifications. I TOTALLY disagree with this. I think ALL modifications should be listed inside the "Modifications & Addon Releases" board with [PAID] and [FREE] attached to the titles. This way, the community can have one full list of modifications. I am currently about to release 3 modifications all for FREE :- 1. An Integration API allowing you to fully integrate your software with Kayako and display things like ticket lists, submit a ticket and knowledge base articles from within the connecting application. 2. A Joomla Plugin based on the above integration. 3. An OpenFire Plugin to allow you to be notified via Jabber when a new ticket comes in. If the correct decision isn't made to list all modifications in the one board, I will cease development now as Kayako are just badly treating people who have their teams spend lots of time releasing such valuable modifications. Could you vote in the attached poll to say what you would like. Best Regards, Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |

Hi Craig, I told you what would be happening in our discussion: that there would be a separation of the modifications that are actually released here on the forums and those whose availability is just advertised, but still within the modifications forum itself. Also, at the request of the mod author in question (you do not need to do this on behalf of them), the thread was moved back from the marketplace as I agreed with them that it was not the most appropriate place for them. -------------------------------------------------------------------

I still disagree with a separate board. ALL should be listed in one so users can easily find what they are looking for. Why do they need to be separated? They should simply be tagged in the title with [PAID] or [FREE]. It does not make any different to you guys if it is linking elsewhere to download or if it is in the thread so why separate? Modifications and files attached here on the forum will only be available to licensed customers; the modifications that are not released here but instead have their availability advertised here are two different kettles of fish. -------------------------------------------------------------------

Ah, so it is just about disallowing unlicensed customers from being able to get modifications? I fail to see this as a reason to punish us modification developers. As I said above, failure to change the policy on this if others agree with me will result in the modifications we are working on never being released so lets see how the poll goes. I think having all modifications in one single place will allow Kayako customers and potential customers know all the potential this product has. This is a win-win-win, Kayako wins because these add-ons add value to their product, the developers win because users and potential customers can easily find their products and most important Kayako customers win because they have easy access to all the free modifications and non free mods that can make their life easier when dealing with a Kayako on a daily basis. Possibly, but I notice Andres from Dewak has voted for all in the same board like I did. I am sure Holbi will post the same way too. Not listening to us would be a big mistake as we are what attracts many users to Kayako's software with our forum assistance, free and paid modifications, etc. Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |

We will be doing what is best for the community as a whole. I understand that you are worried about the visibility of your modifications, but they aren't going to be hidden - it is in the interest of people seeing what is available. However, there will be separation of them - it will be made clear to people browsing modifications what are readily available here and what require contacting or visiting a third party for. I say again, the two are very different. -------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok so basically your not listening to two of the three companies releasing modifications. We are telling you as customers what we want done but you are again failing to listen. Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |

However, just because you have an opinion on how something should be done and you are also a customer, this does not mean that it automatically gets done. You should know this from your activity in the feature requests forum, that as an organisation we have a lot to consider as well as the wishes of our customers Nothing has even happened yet, but do be assured that whatever happens will be in the best interest of everyone.
Thanks, -------------------------------------------------------------------

Craig, I'd like you to please be more careful about the tone you take with staff. -------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for adjusting the poll Jamie. John: I'll PM you later. I don't like the tone you take with me personally considering your a developer. I am a customer at the end of the day that spends a lot of time here. I don't complain about much but when I think something is totally wrong but you can't see it like this, I feel I need to make it clear. Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |

I often visit to see what's new, or any modifications that may help us out - so things I don't need to write internally to add to SupportSuite. Navigating and finding things at the moment is a pain in the rear end. I think all modifications should have their own thread in that particular forum, with the [Free] or [Paid] status. There shouldn't be threads like "supportmods.com modifications" or "Dewak modifications" as it's making it increasingly difficult to find what's going on. | |

I too agree with Craig, they all should be listed under a single "3rd Party Modifications" forum. It is easier for Kayako clients to browse through. Any advertisements related to services provided by a company should be listed in Marketplace. Somehow I dont see any reason why this should and cant be implemented?
