Angry Why do you not listen to custom requests? - 08-08-2007, 11:30 AM

Ive just upgraded my eSupport to the latest version and i am totally shocked that once again the option to either turn off comments or to bulk delete unapproved comments has not been added

This is been asked for so many times and the only reason i am still using eSupport is on the assumption that when new releases come that the developers would listen to their customers and try to implement things that have been asked for.

Very dissapointed again. Im sad to say that its time to look for a different solution, one that gives me control over such things and a developer that listens to customer requests such as WHMCS and SupportTrio.

It is planned for V4.

Using a mod you can turn off commenting altogether. See Disabling comments and stopping comment spam for more details.

Hi ansuk,

See this comments CAPTCHA mod: Client Comment Validation + Captcha

Just because it has not been implemented does not mean we are not listening, we are trying to fit as much in as we can. Please bear with us.

Had done that previously Craig but everytime you upgrade you have to do it again which really isnt practical.

There has been 3 releases since i got my license Jamie and people have been requesting this for over a year. As customers we shouldnt have to rely on kind people submitting mods to combat spam, it is an essential requirement for any software in this area. Kayako is renowned as being the best of the best when it comes to customer support software and is certainly one of the most expensive yet cheaper alternatives such as Sitepanel3, WHMCS and SupportTrio have taken on board that spam is a problem and tried their hardest to prevent as much as possible, whether its adding a CAPATCHA image, the option to disable comments alltogether or some other method yet Kayako obviously dont consider this to be important and it is that which frustrates me and considering there has been 3 releases since i joined in March with requests for this dating back to last year its really not acceptable that either Kayako do not consider spam to be a problem or the requests from their customer base are not implemented.

V4 is where you will see the majority of the feature requests implemented including ones like this. You just have to be patient.

If you had to guess when v4 will be released Craig, what would it be?

Even so, its been asked for for over a year and its not been provided. Im just emailing Matt at WHMCS to see if it can be customised to be just a support desk. Im just about done with Kayako im afraid

ansuk,

Please bear with us - this is just one area of the system that is letting us down; we are fully aware of our shortcomings and problems and trying our best to correct things. Things are changing and we are improving. As always, your feedback is appreciated.

We will be looking to implement CAPTCHA for the commenting system shortly.

People have been asking for these things for over a year Jamie but still nothing has been done. Ive spoke to Matt at WHMCS and the changes can be made to suit so i think im going to go down that route. Best of luck for the future
