Conceptual Issue - Client Portal - 16-01-2008, 12:28 PM

Just feeling my way around the software. Are we correct in saying that in the client portal you may access the KB, news, Troubleshooter, download and sumbitt a ticket all without registering?

We are a software company and only offer these options to fee paying customers. As it stands, our competitors could access this information - I know a client may give them access, but I don't have to make it easy for them!

Am I missing something here - is there a switch/flag that only enables these features to registered users?

Hi markb,

By default that is correct, but you can configure otherwise by changing the permissions for the 'Guest' group within the staff control panel. You can also create your own usergroups and template groups to maintain access permissions.

Thanks Jamie, exactly what I was looking to do! Now I am happy.... and already liking this product more.... now to just work out how to import my manuals from word!
