same issue - 14-02-2009, 07:48 AM

I've got the same issue... but I've got it only after editing some (http://SERVERNAME/admin/index.php?_m...list&groupid=6) parameters in admin panel.

Using: eSupport v3.20.02

3.20.02 is a very old version. I suggest you upgrade as it will likely fix the issue.

addslashes is a fundamental part of PHP. This probably means that Smarty is failing; start by checking if php short tags are turned on, as required. Failing that, please open a support ticket. Upgrading versions will not help with this (there's no reason to believe that it would), but it may be a good idea to do so anyway.

I opened a bug in tracker: Kayako Bug Tracker - Viewing Issue #968 - After rebuilding cache or changing some settings in admin panel - Staff and Admin CP fails to run

John,

Interesting point you made. I've made the upgrade from v3.20.02 to v3.50.05 this afternoon and ran into this exact same error, post-upgrade.

Seems like a worth-while investigation. I've re-installed PHP (5.2.6) with the same conclusions.

Would be interested what develops out of this out, as we're holding from moving the new build into Production.

Peter

I can confirm that by downgrading from 3.50.05 back to 3.20.02, this problem no longer exists. Once upgrading back to 3.50.05, I was able to replicate the problem.

Please open a support ticket. The server in question should be investigated. (I'm running 3.50.05 on 5.2.6 without problems; there must be a third, unknown factor involved somewhere.)

What the hell is the resolution to this problem?

Upgraded to 3.40.01 and i see this

Fatal error: TPL: [in cpheader.tpl line 111]: syntax error: addslashes function does not exist (class.compiler.php, line 346) in /home/mydomain.com/public_html/support/includes/SmartyLight/class.template.php on line 421

Made one change in the admin panel and down it goes.

Why cant the solution be posted here???? If this is a problem that many will see when upgrading why cant the solution be posted here?
