Error after upgrade to 3.50.02 - 07-03-2009, 03:42 PM

I know some other people have the same issue. After upgrading to latest version 3.50.02, I am getting

SupportSuite is not installed. Run setup/index.php to install SupportSuite

I had the same problem because of Turkish chars in company name. So after upgrade I edited db to correct the chars to non Turkish but still same error.

I will be advised to open ticket but this is something needs to be fixed.

You're right - we won't be able to investigate without a support ticket. Please submit one.

Did you try re-run the upgrade once you changed your company name?

Yes I tried that. Now I am going to try fresh install of 3.50.02 and restore the updated db. I hope I do not get any trouble for restoring the template and language.
If still same, I will open the ticket.

We found the problem. It was Turkish chars in company name. So I set it to English chars and did the upgrade and set it back to Turkish chars and everyone is happy now

Hi there,

What characters did you have in there? I want to replicate this here.

ok My company name Yeşilbeyaz E-İş Çözümleri and I had to set it to Yesilbeyaz then did the upgrade.

But an other problem after the upgrade is now that company name can not be displayed correctly. It is Yeilbeyaz E-İ özümleri even I set it correct way.

Could be something with db collaction not sure.

You can track the issue with ticket id: ETO-556159

My gut tells me this is related to the database connection charset. What version were you using before the upgrade? Did you maybe forget to change the $_DB['charset'] variable in /config/config.php?

It was 3.40.02 but because of the charset problem, support desk wanted to change the db collocation.
I did not forget because I did not know that I must change it in config.php.
Ok can you please tell me what collaction settings it should be and what must I do in config.php to avoid same problem with next release? Or you can update the ticket if you like.

Thanks

There is no simple answer to what collation setting you should be using. It depends on the collation and charset of your database tables and the charset in use by your help desk.
