file not found errors - 27-06-2009, 03:57 PM

Hi,
After a new install I'm getting the following error logged:

File does not exist: /www/html/themes, referer: [site URL]/staff/index.php?_ca=css

I've check all the setups, and must be missing something, but can't see what at the moment!

BTW, the database was imported from a hosted trial.
Thanks for any ideas!

-Andy

Tried using FTP to go into /cache/ and deleting everything out?

Oop's I spoke too soon. Clearing the cache solves the problem temporarily, but something (I think in the staff CP) causes it to start again!

I need to do some more testing to figure out exactly which........

Hmm, almost any activity causes the problem to re-occur - Thinks - it must be a configuration error ... somewhere!

Have you modified the source code or edited any template TPL files?

Nope!
Not before these errors occurred, It was a fresh installation, which then had the database from our Kayako hosted demo loaded.
I did have a few custom fields, but these have been deleted, I also deleted all the tickets that had been created on the Kayako hosted version.

I also have some labels which I created, but nothing else.

I've found the line of code in the templates which is making the call, its:
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="all" href="<{$swiftpath}>index.php?_ca=css&group=<{$tgr oupname}>" />

So, somehow it appears group has no value, I have two groups in my themes directory:

admin_default and client_default

I assume group should be one of these?

Next question, where could this be set? and why would a new install be behaving this way? could it be bad values in the imported database?

Unfortunately Kayako support appear to be having trouble with the concept of a server log!

This relates to the groups inside Admin CP -> Templates -> Manage Groups. You set a group by adding "?group=GROUPNAME" to the customer URL.

OK, I spent more time, in a last gasp attempt.
I De-installed the software, and created a completely new installation, and created a new, empty database. This would be a fresh, clean installation.
The only part that has been re-used is the key.php file.

The moment I entered the staffcp Ticket area (http://sub.domain.com/staff/index.php?_m=tickets&_a=manage)

The server error log recorded the error:
[Wed Jul 01 11:48:55 2009] [error] [my.client ip.address] File does not exist: /home/virtual/site4/fst/var/www/html/themes, referer: http://sub.domain.com/staff/index.php?_ca=css

I re-checked Kayako's server requirements, and they were all met.

I guess it just doesn't work for me, so.... the search re-commences

Many thanks to Craig and Supportskins, your support has been vastly more timely, and useful than Kayakos!

Have you submitted a ticket about this?

Yes I did - On Monday. We haven't got past the response:
>> I tried to login to your Staff CP with the provided access details and did not get any errors. Could you please check again

I am having a little difficulty here, explaining that the error occurred in the server error log file, not on screen.

BTW- Does anyone still encourage PHP errors to be displayed onscreen?

For debugging something or in a testing area, yes. In a live site, no.
