inputs hidden after upgrade

I recently upgraded to 3.04.51 and had an initial problem with the update script failing while updating the template table. Support fixed this.

Now the problem is that many of the input boxes in the admin and staff areas are invisible. Combo boxes are still visible.

For example, if I go to Settings, Security in the Admin panel, there are no inputs visible. All I can see is the header "Settings for: Security", followed immediately by the "Update Settings" button.

I searched the forums but couldn't find that anyone had posted about this problem before.

Any ideas on how to correct this?
