PHP 4.42...Upgrading to latest PHP > what's the risk? - 04-08-2006, 02:46 PM

Hello,

It looks like we finally got Support Suite working and now I'm hearing that there are all sorts of vulnerabilities in PHP 4.42. Of course, we've been getting Support Suite setup for about a week (and we've had our share of bumps in the road) and now we're told we need to upgrade to the latest version of PHP.

I really can't stomach a reinstall of support suite.

If we upgrade to the latest version of PHP, will Support Suite continue to run as it is now? We're on Windows 2003.

I was also wondering if I could continue to use the same php.ini file after the upgrade. We've done some tweaking to it to get the environment exactly right.

Thoughts?

Gino

On our Windows 2000 Server, PHP5 prevented SupportSuite from loading properly.

We had to keep it at PHP4.
