PHP Fatal Errors upggrading to 3.30.0 from 3.20.02 - 15-08-2008, 05:59 PM

Guess I will try posting since I am not getting anywhere over LiveChat.

So I was getting a PHP Fatal Error on upgrade. But that was solved by Sandeep over LiveChat. He said all he did is just re-copy the file again (which is bogus cause I had already tried that). I do not know what they changed...

Now It is upgraded. But I am receiving 2 more fatal errors which are stopping the cron and email processing from happening:

Code:
PHP Warning: main(./modules/parse/functions_parser_loopcontrol.php) [<a href='function.main'>function.main</a>]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/kayako/modules/parser/functions_parsercore.php on line 20, referer: http://my.kayako.domain/cron/index.php?_t=parser
And..

Code:
PHP Fatal error: Cannot pass parameter 2 by reference in /var/www/kayako/includes/functions_cron.php on line 77
I checked and functions_parser_loopcontrol.php doesn't exist in the ioncube version. But it DOES in the zend version.

Did someone forget to add a file to the ioncube version?

I am not yet sure what is causing the second error. But may be related.

Any ideas?

Do you receive the error while upgrading or after you upgraded? If after you upgraded, then did you restore the templates after you upgraded?

Was missing functions_parser_loopcontrol.php from the IonCube package. FINALLY was able to get one of the support guys to get the file for me from an unencoded package.

Seriously... Does kayako test stable releases at all?

EDIT: That fixed the cron issue. But still getting these errors thrown:

PHP Fatal error: Cannot pass parameter 2 by reference in /var/www/kayako/includes/functions_cron.php on line 77, referer: http://my.support.com/staff/index.ph...7201&viewall=1

Happens on pretty much any URL request in staff.... Any ideas? All stock templates.

Hi eger,

We're looking into the problem now (which seems to be with the IonCube encoding process).

OK, so replacing the file got the PARSER working. But the cron that runs the parser is still giving this error: PHP Fatal error: Cannot pass parameter 2 by reference in /var/www/kayako/includes/functions_cron.php on line 77

This is when running cron/index.php. When I just run the parser with cron/index.php?_t=parser it works ok.

Hopefully this helps a little bit...

Hi eger,

Please download and install the latest 3.30.01 UNSTABLE build and install that. There were some issues with our Ioncube encoder which we now believe to be resolved.

Let me know how you get on,

To add to that, 3.30.01 STABLE is now out.

Can't even upgrade to 3.30.01. More PHP Fatal Errors:

Code:
Fatal error: Cannot pass parameter 2 by reference in /var/www/kayako/setup/includes/functions.php on line 420
This is the error I get after clicking 'Next' at the first screen after agreeing to the license for the upgrade.

I sure hope this is an isolated issue... My 3.30 experience is horrible so far.

I think you better contact support (http://members.kayako.net -> "Get Support") then they can investigate and pass right to the developers if needs be.

Hi eger,

Please submit a support ticket so that we can take a look at your server and installation. As far as I am aware, we don't have anyone else facing this problem.

Do you have Zend Optimiser installed on your server? It might be worth trying a Zend encoded build, just so there is IonCube to rule out.

I can try this. Though I am using IonCube because it works with PHP opcachers and APC helps a lot with my desk as it is a decent size...

I had the same problem on the 3.30.00 upgrade and someone from support fixed the issue and when I asked how they did it so If I had the issue again they just said "We copied the correct file". Obviously I am facing the same issue and don't know what was fixed the previous time...

I will open a ticket.

Same problem on 3.30.01. When trying to setup the cron to grab /cron/index.php it spits this error and does nothing:
Code:
PHP Fatal error: Cannot pass parameter 2 by reference in /var/www/kayako/includes/functions_cron.php on line 77

Have you submitted a ticket about the problem?

Yes. But I thought the root cause was the same functions.php file and that ticket was closed. I will open another. Ticket: GOR-780233

Hi eger,

Please can you download the latest encoded build from the 'Builds' tab (the first one on there); either IonCube or Zend encoded and try that. You can just upload only the functions.php file; the only change has been made in there.

We made a code change which we believe may solve your problem; however we can't replicate your issue here so I am afraid you will need to try it out for us (I hope you do not mind!).

Thanks,
