Exclamation Setup Issue (support/setup/) - 30-04-2009, 05:05 AM

I have been having a few issues with the installation of Kayako (Zend build), I have installed PHP 5 with IMAP support, mbstring, and mcrypt; Along with MYSQL (configured with phpMyAdmin) and installed Zend Optimizer as a decoding engine. I have configured everything according to the Kayako Support Suite manual but I seem to have run into a problem. The ‘first time installation page’ seems to give me an issue, I’ll include a few screen shots of my problem.

(Just for your information I am running Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition, SP2 /using IIS, hosting from ‘localhost’)


(As you can see the page is definitely not how it is supposed to be, as in reference to the manual, I would be at page 32)

(If I were to click on ‘Setup’ it would simply bring me to this page…)


If you could give me a few suggestions as to why I might be getting this problem that would be great, I need to have this software up and running in at least a week.

Looks like Zend Optimizer isn't installed properly to me. Create a phpinfo.php file and you should be able to check this.

Thank you for the suggestion craigbrass, but when I create a 'phpinfo.php' file in my localhost root directory, everything is decoded correctly with Zend Optimizer.

Could there be any other factor that would cause this?

Does it actually say Zend Optimizer is installed? Your looking for a line like "with Zend Optimizer v3.3.3, Copyright (c) 1998-2007, by Zend Technologies".

You also might want to check if other PHP settings too are as required by the software.

That message is provided when your webserver is configured to say nothing on an error. Take a look at your error logs to find out what's actually going on, or open a support ticket and our support staff will work with you.

I have found various changes suggested by other users and by kayako support staff, none of which fixed the problem, but do you have any suggestions to any changes?

Thank you for you help. I have been in contact with a Kayako support agent via Email, however contact is slow and this problem needs to be sloved as quickly as possible. Would a support ticket be more beneficial?

Other php based programs run fine off of 'localhost' such as phpMyAdmin. So I believe that php and Zend Optimizer are installed correctly. However I do know that the manual talked about FTP transfer through Binary mode, and since I have direct access to the server, I do not need to use FTP but would a 'copy/paste' method NOT be the same as Binary mode? I don't quite understand if this would be a problem, but it seems that other people have had problems with it.

I have been in contact with, first Raghav Arora then Manpreet Singh

I will also submit a support ticket, I need this software running at 'least' by next monday. So please, if anyone has any suggestions post them in this thread or send me a Personal Message.
