Upgrading to 3.00.90 Fails

When I try to upgrade to 3.00.90 from 3.00.80, it get to the upgrade page fine. After I put in my username and password and press then "Next" Button, I get a "Page Not Found Error". I was able to restore back to 3.00.80 using the backups of the database and the software I made prior to starting the upgrade, now I need to figure out what when wrong and where.

PHP Version 4.4.2
MySql Version 5.0.18
Windows Server 2003

Any suggestions?

Does it show the "Page not found" error immediately or the script waits for a while before timing out?

After clicking next, there window blanks and a message "Altering Table..." is displayed. After being displayed for a few moments, the "Page not found" is displayed.
