Could not open input file - 30-04-2009, 03:37 PM

After following the manual and instructions here, I submitted a ticket to Kayako support, but they haven't been able to help me.

According to support, the piping script is working fine but there are wrong permissions on cli/index.php or for a user. I'm waiting to hear back what permissions I should look at, but hoped somebody on the forums would know.

cli/index.php is 755, and .qmail-test is 644. The email has been added to the Email Queue in the Admin CP.

Here is the bounce back email I get when I try to send to the piped email:
Hi. This is the qmail-send program at *.com.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<test@support.*.com>:
Could not open input file: /var/www/vhosts/support.*.com/httpdocs/cli/index.php
The server uses Plesk 8.6 w/ CentOS 5 (on a mediatemple.net dv).

Apparently "this issue is related with your mail server. We do not provide support for server related issues." Very helpful... you do not provide support, indeed.

Anybody have any suggestions for what permissions to look for? Should the .qmail-test file be owned by root or the domain user? Should cli/index.php be owned by the domain user or root?

I set permissions based on what the Kayako manual says (755 on cli/index.php) and have tried to find other posts related to permissions, but still can't get the piping to work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is the latest reply from Kayako:

Running the following command creates an entry in the "Parser Log". You may check the parser log from :

Admin CP >> Mail Parser >> Parser log.

No ticket is created by running the following command in the helpdesk, as this is simply a way to test the piping script.

"ls | php -q /var/www/vhosts/*/httpdocs/cli/index.php "

The entry in the parser log shows that the piping script is running correctly and the required permissions are correctly assigned to all the helpdesk related files as the script is executing properly.

However, on sending a mail to "test@*.com" we still receive bounce backs.
Based on these tests, we concluded that the issue is related with your mail server.

Please check your mail server configuration and you may also check the logs of the mail server to fix the issue.
I have no idea what to check in the mail server configuration, let alone where to check.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
