I would rather suggest you use POP3.

Delay not acceptable - 19-09-2008, 05:45 PM

Yeah I know that is an option. I just liked the immediate entry into the ticketing system instead of having to wait 10 minutes. SLA on some of our clients is an hour. Having to wait 10 minutes is more of an inconvienience.

I know I can change the time to a lower value. Does the POP access drain alot of resources during run? I'd have to set the time limit to less the 5 minutes on the CRON, but if its going to drain my box then it's not an option.

Also is POP better then IMAP, or are they both going to be pretty equal?

Yes - 16-10-2008, 06:41 AM

Just installed it and got it to work on a W2003 Enterprise server running in a Virtual Environment. I pretty much followed the example for windows piping in the installation manual. While they are not the most detailed set of instructions I've seen, I can validate that with some tinkering pipping does work very well for IIS. One note, I have Plesk running on the VM and it was running MailEnable. The instructions in the Kayako manual detailed the installation of EXIM for mail. In my case, I had to disable mailenable in order for EXIM to work. Also had to tweak some of the config files so that relay was allowed for the defined domain.

Again....it took me a couple of hours to figure it out, but yes, piping does work for IIS on W2003.
