Emails from Pop3 - 20-03-2008, 09:39 AM

Hi
We have supportsuite running on a shared server. i have created an email account within the Administrators CP, and have also set up the pop3 account within the domain.

How do we get SupportSUite to pull down the emails from the Pop3 box. Our ISP will not allow us to set up crons on their servers

Thanks
A

In Mail Parser settings, insert an Email Queue for each email address you want to fetch, and configure their setting (POP3, account, password,...)

Then, in Scheduled Tasks, enabled the POP/IMAP fetching and it should work.

That will execute pseudo cron which is executed only when you login to the Admin or Staff CP. Task Scheduler or cron is a requirement for the software to fetch emails at regular intervals. You might want to look into remote cron services if your host does not allow setting of crons.

i have set up the email account, and there is an email sitting in the pop3 box. I sent to Scheduled Tasks > manage and the Pop3/IMAP is enabled for every ten minutes (although the words Pop3/IMAP is greyed out).

i logged out and in again, but the message hasb;t come through.

And, no we cannot run crons on the shared server, so I will investiage Remote Cron Services.

Alex

Take a look at remote cron: hosted cron server, free, automated crontab job scheduler.

Hi, thanks for that - I went there but they are not accepting any new registration s at the moment.
However i have found another one. I have set up the cron as follows:

http://mydomain/cron/index.php.

However the emails are not being pulled from the Pop3 box

Would appreciate some help in knowing where to start troubleshooting

Try:

http://mydomain/cron/index.php?_t=parser

That will run the cron in a window browser. Perhaps you can run your windows scheduler (if your on windows) to run that link every so often and that will parse your emails.

Thank you Siora

That worked and pulled down the email. I am using an external cron service, and would indicate that the service is not working properly.

Should I prehaps replace the url i have set up within the service, with the one you supplied?

Thanks

Alex

There is another URL that uses wget that you could use. Perhaps someone here can provide the URL (I'm not too familiar with it).
