Increase POP3 Download Frequency by calling mysite.com/cron/index.php?_t=parser

Hi, i wish to increase the polling frequency of my POP3 mailbox as 10 minutes is too long. Is it vaid if i setup a cron job to call the following url every 3 minutes:

http://mystite.com/cron/index.php?_t=parser

I know that will kick off the download process instantly without waiting for the internal Kayako cron to trigger.

Is this valid?

Appreciate thoughts on the above.

Open the table swcron in phpMyAdmin and find the row with name equal to parser. Change cminute for that row to say 5 for 5 minutes.

Yes thats very much valid. Besides the cron in Kayako is a pseudo cron.

is the error I get when I call this cron direct. It is on a windows server and I did what it said

BUT I have a couple of these php.ini files, which one do I edit?

Also I want to use POP3 not IMAP.

Create a PHP Info file (<?php phpinfo(); ?> only inside) and put it inside the directory you put files in for accessing via the web server. Run this file in a web browser. It will say like "Loaded Configuration File" and show the path to the one it is running.

After uncommenting it, remember to restart the web server.
