Mass Bounce Emails - 05-01-2009, 04:48 AM

Can someone review the attached email parser log please?

For some reason (only started occurring today), when a client created a new ticket, Kayako generated thousands of these bounced email replies??

In fact, our web host had to disable the script /home/etelsupp/public_html/cli/index.php because it continued to crash the server due to the high email traffic (I guess it was just looping).

Any help much appreciated.

It indeed would be a loop. Seems the issue is because the email "ddixon@ozefax.com.au" does not exist.

Problem solved, and noted here hoping it might help someone else.

We recently created a new web hosting account with the same hosts who house the kayako application.
The new hosting account was using the same domain as the emails used in kayako.
The domain (including the mail server) is presently with a different host.

Reason: We are in the process of transferring the domain and website over to the new host shortly.

The new web host (that has kayako) by default looks at it's own servers for any email addresses before searching outside its environment. And, this is where it came unstuck. The emails just don't exist there yet, because we haven't pointed the DNS for the domain over.

I'm sure this can be explained better in technical terms, but hopefully you've caught my drift.
