Angry Piping in Linux - 21-02-2006, 12:25 PM

I submitted the following to support, more than 24hours ago but as another poster mentioned the support provided by the support system providers is not very good. Nor is the knowledgebase from what I can see. Anyway I was hoping that somebody could help answer these questions:

Was using version 2.1 of esupport until this weekend when we changed over to version 3. Since then we are having a few problems (some may just be unfamiliarity, however the CLI parser is causing problems)

CLI Parser
Changed the link in /etc/smrsh to use the /cli/index.php as the parser, however now it appears to be running constantly and using 25% of our CPU, even when there appears to be no mail. Earlier it caused a complete stop to the server when 4 instances were runing at the same time. We have the flood protection switched on.

A few other items which I also have queries on:
  • Settings for managing banned users - where are these gone?
  • Settings for managing email rules? - where are these gone?
  • Setup for pop3/impap accounts - gone?
  • Ticket Replies - how do we use the HTML WYSIWYG editor for replies?
  • The Quick Insert for Predefined Replies, Knowlegdebase and downloads dont work when replying
  • The import from 2.3.5 didnt bring across mail parser rules
  • Also, The import did not bring across our email templates from before
  • and I cant get the irresponse to work in the autoresponder emails.
  • And the instaalert is asking for a license code?

1) /cli/index.php needs to be chmod'ed too 755 and it should only be ran when email is sent to it... So shouldn't have any problems with it causing problems with server unless you have 100's of emails coming in every second.

2) If you are talking about Live Chat Visitors you go too Admin CP > Visitor Bans

3) Email Rules = Admin CP > Mail Parser

4) Pop3/imap accounts? you mean the Mail Parser/Piping? If so its Admin CP > Mail Parser

5) InstaAlert did you click on Register for Pro? If so the Pro Version you have to Purchase from the Members Area (members.kayako.net)

Thanks, but there definitely seems to be a problem with the cli parser. Its set up as you say and would not be receiving so many emails, and even when not receiving any, the same Process ID is running at 25% of CPU.

2) No, I was talking about the email bans.. no menu options seem to exist to manage them

3) the only mail parser option in the admin section is under the settings and doesn't appear to have anything about the rules. Is it possible that the Admin user is not getting full access to the menus?

Any idea how to enable the WYSIWYG editor on the Ticket replies, and to enable the instant response within the autoresponder?

Thanks for your help

It is in Admin CP, "Mail Parser"->"Email Bans"

This is disabled due to system issue, html emails caused too much problems.

First of all, I just bought a monthly license. I am very impressed with the software. It's a steal. I just wish piping can work. The manual explains very well but I think I am going wrong somewhere:

I have set the forwards to the path to the cli/index.php which is (0755)

Configuration File (php.ini) Path /usr/local/Zend/etc/php.ini

http://www.rackedhosting.com/phpinfo.php

Then I ran in command line: php phpinfo.php > phpinfo.htm

http://www.rackedhosting.com/phpinfo.htm

After seeing them I changed the patch in cli/index.php
from: #!/usr/local/bin/php -q
to: #!/usr/local/Zend/etc/php -q

I tried to run in command line: index.php > test.htm
(I am talking about clie/index.php)
But it kinda hung and I pressed ^Z. I am new to SSH. May be that's where I am wrong. Any help?

[03-Mar-2006 10:28:43] PHP Warning: Zend Optimizer does not support this version of PHP - please upgrade to the latest version of Zend Optimizer in Unknown on line 0

Btw, I am using Ioncube, not Zend Optimizer.
