POP 3 Urgent issue - 13-07-2007, 12:31 PM

Hi,

Hope this is the right thread, as it's not a piping issue, rather POP3. Emails were coming and going fine up until 6 days ago. Certain people still able to email through which is why we didn't pick this up until one guy emailed our MD with a complaint that we weren't answering support tickets .

I looked in the web account for our mail client and found 147 messages waiting to be downloaded .

They are all registered users, in various groups which all have privelage to submit tickets. I have changed nothing in past few days, don't fix it if it ain't broken etc.

I ran http://support.xxxxxx.com/cron/index.php?_t=parser and this pushed them through, both ones sent from supportsuite and ones sent to support suite. I cannot for the life of me see anything wrong with my config, as i say this has only just started to happen.

Anyone any ideas? We have version 3.04.10, i know there's a new version and will get round to it! We host it ourselves on fully owned. It's a Linux server.

HELP

If you manually run the URL - http://support.xxxxxx.com/cron/index.php?_t=parser and if the emails are coming through just fine then the issue would be with the cron set on your server. It may not be set correctly or may not be executed on a regular basis. You might want to look into its configuration.

You can look into the email parser setup which can be found in both the new and the old manual - http://docs.kayako.net and http://manual.kayako.net/. HTH

Ummmm, Just looked at the Manual, and it says i should have a file called mailparser which executes the cron task. I have done a search on this, and the worrying thing is that i can't find the file. But surely it must have been there if mails were getting through before? Or am i missing something?

If your on Windows server, have a look in the manual at:

Cron jobs (scheduled tasks) Microsoft Windows Server 2003

then under that section:

Setting up cron jobs (automated scheduled tasks)

HTH,

Rich

Features I need asap:
1) Ticket search in the client portal!
2) Column display in client portal showing clients email address or name
3) Downloads by client
(i.e. - each client has their own download area and can't see/touch downloads for any other client.) This would be on top of a "public" download area.
4) Integrated KB image uploads
The ability for staff to upload images with a KB articles.
Cheers!

The file is index.php which you can find in the cron directory of the software.
