POP issues

Hi, I've had pop mail working on a test machine in the past but now kayako is deployed it isn't fetching any mail.

When trying to do a manual fetch using /cron/index.php?_t=parser this message appears... Could this be proxy related?

http://www.thescripts.com/forum/thread520641.html says the error can mean the username / password is invalid so check that.

Seems like the issue is with your POP3 account settings. The error suggest your mail host was not reachable.

I thought that too but that post says that it could be incorrect credencials too.

I've checked credencials they're all ok, however I can't ping the host imail.edwinstree.herts.sch.uk but neither can I ping google. this server does sit behind an external proxy would that get in the way?

If correct rules are not setup then yes, it would.

Try accessing your POP3 account from mail2web.com and check if it works. Also which version of PHP are you using?
